¡¡¡¡Technological
innovation has been and will remain the main driving force
behind agricultural productivity growth. It is also the key
to food security and sustainable agricultural development.
The goal of this program is to provide policy recommendations
to help foster China¡¯s modernization process and system of
technological innovation. The program¡¯s main research areas
are as follows:
¡¡¡ö¡¡Agricultural R&D investment prioritization,
research and extension system
¡¡¡¡¡¡reform, intellectual property rights in agricultural technology,
and the
¡¡¡¡¡¡emergence of the nation¡¯s seed markets;
¡¡¡ö¤EEconomic impacts of high-tech, especially agricultural
biotechnology,
¡¡¡¡¡¡development and the related policies;
¡¡¡ö¤EEconomic and environmental impact of the emergence of agricultural
input
¡¡¡¡¡¡markets, especially those for fertilizer and pesticides;
¡¡¡ö¤AAgricultural technology extension and adoption;
¡¡¡ö¤EEconomic analysis of agricultural biodiversity, with particular
emphasis on
¡¡¡¡¡¡policies and impact.
